Personal Allowances (update)

Looks like the optimism posted in an earlier article has not quite come to pass. Though personal allowances have risen by £1000 to £7475, not quite the £10k everyone was expecting/hoping for.

However for a household with two people paying basic rate tax, this could mean tax savings of up to £400 per household. However when offset against the VAT increase this isn’t so great. Though, you can choose to pay VAT by spending wisely and only buying exmept or zero rated items. Good luck with that.
